Introducing our new Head of Accounting for North America, Helina Patiance!

As someone who is lit up by big ideas and innovation, Helina brings this passion to her small business clients to help them take advantage of technology. She draws on extensive accounting industry experience as well as her atypical background, which saw her do everything from teaching English abroad and working as theatre artist, to HR and financial analyst roles.

Eventually, Helina came to accounting to make a difference in the world and support small businesses, who she sees as the site of innovation. She now manages a team of 23 at Entreflow, the cloud based accounting firm where she is CEO.

There, Helina sees first-hand the powerful role of internal financial controls. “Nowadays, phishing and external fraud are so commonplace that it is no wonder that cyber security premiums have skyrocketed. Internal controls are the only true safeguard to these events,” she says.
